IDENTIFICATION OF WILD LIFE HABITATS OUTSIDE PROTECTED AREAS

1338.    DR. R. LAKSHMANAN:
Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state:

(a)    whether Government has identified any areas as wild life habitats lying outside the protected areas in Tamil Nadu;
(b)    if so, the details thereof;
(c)    the details of activities, particularly conservation of nature carried out in such areas, with a view to support wild life; and
(d)    the details of funds allocated for this purpose during the last five years?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE(SHRI ANIL MADHAV DAVE)

(a)    This Ministry has neither identified nor received any proposal from the State Government of Tamil Nadu for identification of any areas as wild life habitats lying outside the protected areas for seeking funds for such purpose.

(b)to(d)    In view of (a) above, question does not arise.
