WILDLIFE MORTALITY DUE TO ROAD PROJECTS

Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state:

 (a) whether National Board for Wild Life has given permission to various Road Projects which are either passing through or pass by buffer zones thereby increasing the chances of wildlife mortality

 (b) if so, the details thereof;

(c)whether Government is aware of the fact that this not only affects the wild animals but the entire eco-system for a long duration and

(d)if so, the details thereof?

 (a)  to (d)The Standing Committee of National Board for Wildlife considers proposals for developmental projects for construction/repair of roads passing through wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, buffer zones and recommends proposals along with mitigation measures on a case to case basis.
