Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the incidents of elephant menace has risen in the country particularly in Karnataka;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the number of such incidents reported during the last three years and the current year, State and year-wise;

(c) whether the Government has taken any effective measures to prevent elephant menace in the country and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether the Government has also taken steps to provide compensation to the families and farmers affected by elephant menace and if so, the details thereof?
